Alishan Mountains

Alishan Mountains

Stairway to heaven! ❤️ The green of the hills always brings out strong emotions and lends a sense of calmness putting one instantly at ease. Alishan Mountains in Taiwan are beautifully structured with coniferous and bamboo trees along with loads of ground vegetation. The walking/ trekking paths are impressive and make it a great experience exploring the region. Here is a piece of the beautiful forest around sunset as I made my way back to the extremely welcoming and warm Long Yum Resort where an amazing meal was waiting for me!

Sun Moon Lake

Sun Moon Lake Taiwan

The Taiwanese love to decorate with small beautiful elements and this lends a certain charm along with being a visual delight. These beautiful mini Chinese lamps of gold & red with verses in mandarin shining against the gorgeous blue of the Sun Moon Lake is one such sight!

Change of Guard Ceremony at Chiang Kai Shek Memorial

guards at Taiwan

The Change of Guard Ceremony at Chiang Kai Shek Memorial in Taipei...You got to see it to believe it! These guards stand in the same position, no tossing or twitching or excessive blinking, for 47 minutes followed by a change of guard ceremony of roughly 13 minutes. Imagine standing in same pose for THAT long! This elaborate and perfectly rehearsed ceremony is a must watch for tourists visiting the capital city and is an hourly feature everyday from 10 am to 4 pm. It is truly incredible how the guards replacing the previous ones move in such a harmony that the replacement appears a seamless visual delight!

High Speed Rail

Let it roll in! The absolutely impressive and smooth experience of traveling in a high-speed train left us amazed! These super-fast trains / bullet trains/ express rides are a speciality of East Asia and are found in China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan‬ .
Taiwan's super fast express trains can travel at speeds of 300 km/h and connect Taipei City in the North to Kaohsiung City in South-West taking only 90 minutes as opposed to 4.5 hours by the normal rail line! Whoah

Janfusun Fancyworld

Talk about 'letting it go'! This heart stopping ride kicked some major butt. What a drop and what a 360 degree view of the mountains from the top...phew! It was not easy convincing people to try it with me but well i did manage a few hands 🙋🏻 Loved it! The ride is one of the 38 different rides of Janfusun Fancyworld, an amusement park in Gukeng Township, Yunlin County, Taiwan. The park also features Sky Wheel which is Taiwan's tallest Ferris wheel, the Crazy Coaster which is actually crazy, Vicky The Viking water ride, several interesting museums, great food places, etc. Their latest ride is the VR Dinosaur Coaster ride which is one of Taiwan's first amusement park VR gear rides! Complete family entertainment!
