For the second edition of The World Series presented by American Express, one of the most popular cooks in the world, Nigella Lawson is coming to India. She would be hosting a quintessential London themed bespoke culinary experience featuring her signature menu at The Chambers at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai and The Roseate, New Delhi.
Famed as the queen of food for pleasure, Nigella Lawson is a culinary superstar celebrated worldwide. Boasting twelve cook-books and five hit television shows to her name, out of which her very first book titled, How to Eat, published in 1998 is a ground-breaking best seller.
The World Series is a set of signature events to showcase celebrated talent from the field of food, fashion, performing arts and business. The 2018 edition of The World Series presented by American Express was headlined by World’s Number One Chef, Daniel Humm who curated a spectacular dinner for set of food connoisseurs. This year’s edition presented by American Express in partnership with BMW Excellence Club, Rose, Rose the Watch Bar, Etihad Airways, The Chambers at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai and The Roseate, New Delhi promises to be nothing short of magnificent.
To enhance the uniqueness of Nigella’s Art, Brancott Estate will bring its own fresh perspective from Marlborough, New Zealand, with its Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, at the Taj Mahal Mumbai. Jacob’s Creek Classic and Sparkling will bring its generous notes from Barossa, Australia to highlight the talent of Chef Nigella at the Roseate, New Delhi.
Mr. Manoj Adlakha, Senior Vice President & CEO, American Express Banking Corp., India, said, “At American Express, we are passionate about enabling memorable experiences for our Card members. Our Card members are discerning gourmands, and our partnership with World Series has provided them access to new and exciting culinary events. In continuation, we are thrilled to bring Nigella Lawson to the country for the first time ever! Making it even more special, Ms Lawson will curate a private Centurion lunch in Mumbai and Delhi as an exclusive event for our Card members.”
Speaking about the second edition of The World Series, Sapna M Vats, Director - Luxury Marketing and Special Events at Evolve said, “After bringing celebrated chefs such as Daniel Humm and Heston Blumenthal to India, we are thrilled to be curating the second prestigious edition of The World Series presented by American Express India - featuring Nigella Lawson. Nigella’s mystique as a culinary goddess was so expansive and compelling that it was only natural for us to bring her to India and have her put together an exquisite meal. What’s even more special is that Nigella doesn’t own a restaurant, so the only way to know how incredible her food tastes is through this experience which promises to be nothing short of splendid.”
Kush Kapoor, CEO – Roseate Hotels & Resorts shared, “We are happy to be the first hotel in the country to host Nigella Lawson for this exclusive culinary experience at Chi Ni, The Roseate New Delhi. I am confident that our patrons will relish the unique gastronomic journey and take home a rich experience.”
Speaking about the association with second edition of The World Series, Biren Vaidya, Managing Director and Chief Designer at Rose Group of Companies said, “As a company, we have always believed in bringing the very best of the world to Indian soil and hence we are extremely pleased to partner with ‘The World Series’ to bring Nigella Lawson, one of the world’s finest culinary legend, to India.”
The enduring appeal of Nigella Lawson lies in how effortlessly she would be rustling up a chicken roast or getting down and dirty with an apple crumble, all the while satiating you with one desire: the need to eat. Few TV chefs or home cooks do that; fewer still do it with the allure of someone who hasn't counted a calorie since 1985. Smart, sassy and culinary prowess, Nigella Lawson is one of the most successful foodies ever to lick the back of a spoon. How? Of course, her food is fantastic. But most importantly, she knows what you want to eat.
